Selection / Purchase
How do I choose the right ceiling fan size?
The measurements of the right ceiling fan for each room depend on the size of the room. You need to calculate the room's square metres and then choose the size of the ceiling fan. The bigger the room, the bigger the diameter of your ceiling fan. We have different sizes so you can choose the one that best suits your space. You can find these span on the data sheets of our ceiling fans. What is the best type of ceiling fan for my home?
If you need a fan for a common space, like a kitchen or living room, we recommend that you choose a model with a greater rotation speed and airflow. However, if you are looking for a fan for a smaller room, office or bedroom, you’ll need one that comes equipped with low or very low speeds, so that the airflow is not too high. If you need an outdoor ceiling fan (balcony, terrace, porch), we recommend our Windcalm Patio fan. It's specifically designed for outdoor areas thanks to its IP44 protection rating. What do you have to take into account when buying a ceiling fan?
There are several factors you have to take into account to make a satisfactory choice. Firstly, whether it's a silent ceiling fan, as well as the size of the room, the height of the ceiling and the type of room you're going to place it in. On the other hand, consider whether you prefer it to be a ceiling fan with a light or a ceiling fan with no light, as well as if you want it to be a ceiling fan with Wi-Fi. You also have to consider whether you're looking for a fan with a summer/winter function, in addition to the power and type of motor, the material of the blades and motor, the consumption it generates and the energy efficiency it provides.Which one's better, a fan with metal blades or one with plastic blades?
Plastic blades are more resistant and have easier maintenance. At Create, we design our ceiling fans using lightweight, highly resistant material to ensure that our models really are silent. For the blades, we use materials like solid wood or ultra-lightweight plastic. What’s better, a blade fan or a tower fan?
If you’re looking for more airflow and want to be able to direct it in several directions, choosing a fan with blades is the ideal option. It also consumes less energy than a tower fan.Ceiling fans with light
How do you replace a ceiling fan's light bulb?
You just have to remove its LED board, replace it with a new one and connect it.Ceiling fans with summer/winter function
How do you change the rotation direction of a ceiling fan?
Change the direction of the airflow by pressing the reverse function button on the remote control, mobile phone or wall controller while the fan is on. It doesn't work when the fan is switched off. The blades will stop turning and start up again in the opposite direction by simply pressing the button once. How do you know if a fan is in summer or winter mode?
It's easy if you look at the direction of the fan blades. If you look at it from the ground, in summer mode the blades turn counterclockwise, while in winter mode the blades turn clockwise. How do you use a ceiling fan in the winter?
If you choose one of the fans with a summer/winter function, you’ll improve energy efficiency as well ensuring that the room remains warm for longer thanks to the direction its blades move in. When in winter mode, it evenly distributes heat from the heating accumulated near the ceiling.Installation
What’s the recommended height when installing a ceiling fan?
The minimum safety distance between the blades of a ceiling fan and the floor is 2.3m, although ideally you should place it at 2.4m. Therefore, the minimum ceiling height must be over 2.6m. The maximum distance between the fan and the floor so that it remains efficient is around 2.7m.Can I install a ceiling fan on a low ceiling?
If the height of your ceiling is lower than 2.6 m, you can install the fan without double height and, therefore, any model will be valid. However, if the ceiling in your room is very high, we recommend a double-height fan, in other words, one with an extension bar so that you can extend the fan's hanging length.Where is a ceiling fan installed?
It’s hung from the ceiling wherever there is a point of light. When installing it, you’ll have to ensure that it’s securely attached to the ceiling. All fixing screws should be checked and retightened whenever necessary before starting the fan.Cleaning
How is a ceiling fan cleaned?
We recommend that you thoroughly clean your ceiling fan every 1 to 2 months. To this end, you’ll need to place a bed sheet or plastic cover underneath, a cloth, neutral liquid cleaner or soap and a chair or ladder. It’s important that you shut down and turn off the ceiling fan before you start to clean it, and if it's equipped with a light, the bulb must be cold for it to be removed. Then, clean the bulb and covers with a cloth impregnated with neutral liquid cleaner or soap and allow them to dry. Afterwards, use a dry cloth to clean the upper and lower side of each blade. Finally, screw the clean bulbs back into your fan.Fun facts
